It’s been far too long since I’ve posted here! My priorities have been elsewhere, and rightfully so. Deep in the back of my mind some thoughts have been percolating about taking risks in writing, writing what you’re passionate about, pushing yourselves as writers to be better, better, better—likely born out of my time last month at the SCBWI conference at Asilomar, where I was surrounded by wonderfully like-minded and empowering faculty members. It was a joyful conference experience for me because I could feel the attendees being buoyed up by the sense that yes, they CAN do it, rather than beaten down by doom and gloom and shoulds and shouldn’ts.
Late last week my wonderful friend and client Robin LaFevers did a guest post at Writer Unboxed that seems to have hit a similar chord. I can’t say any of it better than she did. Please trot on over there for some camaraderie and empowerment!

Thank you, Erin, for sending me over to Writer Unboxed. Wow. On my knees wow. What a rally cry of a post. I LOVE it. Deep in the bones love it.
