Max is a queer writer based in Long Beach, California where he focuses on writing contemporary young adult fiction, short stories, and picture books. His work centers queer and gender expansive characters across identities and ages.
When he’s not writing, Max enjoys swimming in all bodies of water, developing character playlists, and working to support equitable learning outcomes and positive, affirming school climates for all students.
He graduated from UC Berkeley and received an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from the Vermont College of Fine Arts.
Open to work for hire and IP work in picture book fiction and nonfiction, middle grade nonfiction, and young adult fiction. Special interest in LGBTQ+ and social justice.
