Marcus Ewert is the proud author of four acclaimed and/or award-winning children’s picture books. His ALA-championed book, 10,000 Dresses, is notable for being the first kids’ book with a transgender protagonist. Since the book’s 2008 debut, it’s been included in school curricula throughout the Anglosphere (and was subsequently translated and published in Brazil). His book with Lisa Brown, Mummy Cat, (Clarion, 2015) won the Washington Children’s Choice Picture Book Award in 2017, and is a staple of museum gift shops around the United States, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Born in Atlanta, Marcus currently resides in an honest-to-gosh turret in San Francisco.
