New Deal: The Loss of the Burying Ground

Miriam Newman at Candlewick has acquired J. Anderson Coats‘s next YA novel, The Loss of the Burying Ground. Plans for a historic treaty between two perpetually warring nations are dashed by a shipwreck that leaves 17-year-old Cora stranded on a desert island, but when she realizes she’s been marooned with a member of the enemy, she must challenge her preconceived notions and worldview as they fight to survive together. Publication is set for spring 2025; Ammi-Joan Paquette at Erin Murphy Literary Agency brokered the deal for world rights.
