New Deal: When Science Stood Still

Nicole Fiorica at McElderry Books has bought world rights to When Science Stood Still by Shruthi Rao, illustrated by Srinidhi Srinivasan in her U.S. debut, a nonfiction picture book of how Indian physicist Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar discovered the science behind black holes despite resistance from Western scientists, in a two-book deal. Publication is set for fall 2025; Emily Forney at BookEnds represented the author, and Miranda Paul at Erin Murphy Literary Agency represented the illustrator.
