e.E. Charlton-Trujillo

Mexican-American author, filmmaker and youth literacy activist e.E. Charlton-Trujillo has written several award-winning books for teens and children, most notably the Fat Angie series, an ALA Stonewall Award Winner and Lambda Literary Finalist, and Prizefighter en Mi Casa, a Parents’ Choice Silver Honor Winner. The Collectors, a collection of short stories featuring Trujillo’s “La Concha,” was the winner of the 2024 Printz Award for Young Adult Literature. They and NYT Bestseller Pat Zietlow Miller co-authored of Lupe Lopez: Rock Star Rules, and its follow-up Lupe Lopez: Reading Rock Star. Both books illustrated by ALA award-winner Joe Cepeda. They are also the co-author (with Pat) for the forthcoming A Girl Can Build Anything, illustrated by Keisha Morris. Off the page, Trujillo is co-founder for the nonprofit Never Counted Out, is co-host of the Instagram Live artist series Off The Cuff, and a proud member of the Las Musas collective.
