Ebony Lynn Mudd writes picture books and novels for underrepresented kids who don’t see themselves as main characters in the media. Her books center Black kids and their experiences as kids who live, love, imagine, fail, succeed, dance, and dream. As a former professional dancer and current owner of a tuition-free dance company, Ebony is a bridge for underprivileged kids that dream of working in the arts. She is energized by the creative freedom she has when choreographing moves to music and often compares it to creating stories on a blank page.
Ebony is also a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and a member of the admin team for Black Creators HQ.
Open to work for hire and IP work in picture book fiction, picture book nonfiction, and middle grade fiction. Special interests in dance.
