Joanne Rocklin is the author of middle grade novels and picture books. Her books have earned starred reviews and awards including The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators Golden Kite, Parents’ Choice Gold Medal, Sydney Taylor Notable, ALA Notable, California Library Association Beatty Award, and the Commonwealth Club California Book Award Gold Medal. Joanne has a doctorate in psychology and is a former elementary school teacher. Originally from Montreal, Canada, Joanne lived in Los Angeles for many decades. She now lives in Oakland, California where she babysits for her grandchildren and makes artisan breads, jam, and children’s books. Her latest novel and picture book are Love, Penelope and Good Guys, Bad Guys respectively.
