Rebecca Van Slyke

By day, Rebecca Van Slyke is a second-grade teacher. She has an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts. She writes picture books, easy readers, nonfiction, and poetry. She also has illustrated five art books for children. Rebecca first decided she would like to be an author and illustrator when she was four years old and found out the secret that books were made by REAL PEOPLE! She and her husband have a daughter who is also a teacher. They live in Lynden, Washington, with two very spoiled dachshunds.
