"A daring dose of humor, metafiction, and pardonable pandering to nonreaders and librarians alike." - Kirkus
★ “Unity and division are themes rich for exploration in this story of alphabet letters separated by fear and complacency. It will grow upon children and adults with each reading.” —SLJ (starred review)
It can safely be said that there is a lot going on in the world of Jennifer A. Nielsen. Last month saw the release of the second book in her Underworld Chronicles series, ELLIOT AND THE PIXIE PLOT, which Kirkus called “a quickly addictive page-turner,“ and the third and last installment, ELLIOT AND THE LAST UNDERWORLD WAR, is coming out in February 2012.
Jen is also the author of a brand-new series from Scholastic, which will kick off in April 2012 with THE FALSE PRINCE. This title has been seeing a lot of buzz over the past few months, including this week’s call-out as the Children’s Book Council’s pick of the week. (Now we should all take a moment to pause and admire the gorgeous and newly-unveiled cover. Oooh!)
And there’s more! After much skillful behind-the-scenes negotiations, we are thrilled to announce that the film rights to THE FALSE PRINCE were optioned by Scholastic Entertainment, via Eddie Gamarra at The Gotham Group. Congratulations to Jen, Eddie, and the terrific team at Scholastic Press.—And here’s to many more exciting things up ahead!
