★ "A compelling and generous addition to picture book collections that can inspire young naturalists and builders, and create a well of empathy in storytimes."—School Library Journal, Starred Review
★ “Unity and division are themes rich for exploration in this story of alphabet letters separated by fear and complacency. It will grow upon children and adults with each reading.” —SLJ (starred review)
There is a very cool group of monkeys that live in Manú National Park in Peru and renowned author/illustrator team, Melissa Stewart and Steve Jenkins, will showcase this amazing story for us. If you’ve seen their previous project, CAN AN AARDVARK BARK? (Beach Lane, 2017), you’ll know we’re all in for a treat.
Andrea Welch at Beach Lane has acquired 14 Monkeys: A Rain Forest Rhyme by Melissa Stewart, illustrated by Steve Jenkins. The poetic nonfiction picture book showcases the amazing group of monkeys that inhabit Manú National Park in Peru. Publication is slated for Summer 2021; Tricia Lawrence at Erin Murphy Literary sold World rights on behalf of the author; the illustrator represented himself.
I can’t wait for this!
Congratulations, Melissa and Steve!
