Anna Crowley Redding
When it comes to non-fiction, Anna Crowley Redding is one of the most versatile authors out there—whether she’s diving deep into techy biographies like GOOGLE IT or ELON MUSK: ON A MISSION TO SAVE THE WORLD; exploring the cutting-edge science of the present and the future in her forthcoming BLACK HOLE CHASERS; or telling playful historical anecdotes in the picture books SAVING THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE and CHOWDER RULES!
And today, we get to see yet another side of Anna’s non-fiction: an inspiring true story of a little-known hero. And what else? A KID hero! Yes, indeed, we are going all the way back to the 1800s for this exciting new project. And here is the deal announcement for your perusal pleasure:
Ann Kelley at Random House Studio has bought world rights to Courage Like Kate: The True Story of a Little Girl Lighthouse Keeper by Anna Crowley Redding (l) and illustrated by Emily Sutton. This picture book biography recounts the life of Kate Moore, a twelve-year-old lighthouse-keeper, who, in the 1800s, saved the lives of twenty-three sailors. Publication is slated for summer 2022; Ammi-Joan Paquette at Erin Murphy Literary Agency represented the author; the illustrator represented herself.
So, if you haven’t yet started—or completed!—your Anna Crowley Redding collection, I urge you to do so as quick as possible. And don’t forget to mark your calendars for summer ’22 – it’s gonna be an exciting one!
Congratulations, Anna!
