Amy Cherrix is a children’s book author who grew up in quirky Asheville, NC, less than an hour from a formerly top secret NASA tracking station–a fact that inspired her love of science, and fueled her early fascination with hidden history. For six years she had the best job in the world as the children’s book buyer at the fiercely independent Malaprop’s Bookstore/Cafe in Asheville, NC.
She writes mostly non-fiction across all formats about science and the natural world. Amy earned a master’s degree in children’s literature from Simmons University.
Open to work for hire and IP work in board books, picture book nonfiction, middle grade fiction, and young adult nonfiction. Special interests in space travel, hidden history, science, nature, wildlife, and conservation.
