Andrew Geha is an award-winning playwright and theater teacher. He has worked at Friends Academy, a Quaker school in Locust Valley, NY, since 2001. His play, ShakeSPLOSION!!!, and his musical, We Didn’t Have Time to Be Scared are published by YouthPLAYS.
His musical featuring LGBTQ+ teens, Standing in the Current, was one of the winners of AATE’s 2018 Unpublished Play Reading Project. In Dreams, I Am Invincible, a play about bullying, won the 2018 New England Theatre Conference’s Aurand Harris Memorial Playwriting Award. Chrysalis, a play about race and equity in high school, was one of the 2024 winners of Utah Valley University’s Old Miner’s Children’s Playwrighting Contest.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Acting and a Master’s Degree in Educational Theater, both from New York University. His work has been produced internationally, including a five-star production of We Didn’t Have Time to Be Scared, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
