Beste was three years old when she became a refugee. Her parents fled Turkey and sought safety in London, England.
She lives in Northern California with her partner and two cats Pickles (Rickle Doo) and Bella (Belle Belle).
Beste is a 2023 Walter Dean Myers Grant recipient. The grant is awarded by We Need Diverse Books.
Open to work for hire and IP work in picture books, chapter books, middle grade, and young adult. Special interest in immigration and refugees, LGBTQIA+, computer science and programming, novels in verse, poetry, and code poetry.
