Nancy Raines Day is the author of 14 picture books and counting. She is known for her clever concept books, many in rhyme. Her newest titles are Applesauce Is Fun to Wear and Baby’s Opposites. Her first book, The Lion’s Whiskers, was a New York Times notable book of the year. Other titles include Baby’s Firsts, Pirate Jack Gets Dressed, and On a Windy Night.
Day holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in literacy journalism from Syracuse University. She lives with her husband on St. Simons Island in Georgia, where she enjoys swimming and beach combing.
