New Deal: Dear Carbon

Hilary Van Dusen at Candlewick/MIT Kids has acquired world rights to Dear Carbon by Alexandra Katona, illustrated by Enrico Lorenzi. Told through letters from Earth to Carbon, this picture book explores Carbon’s bond with Oxygen over time, and how it’s not too late to repair a friendship with Earth, along with some help from humans.

Publication is scheduled for summer 2027; Ammi-Joan Paquette at Erin Murphy Literary Agency represented the author, and Heather and Ethan Long at Tugeau 2 Art & Literary Agency represented the illustrator.
